Just love the colours and the way you have applied them, and I like the background - it doesn't distract too much from the characters and keeps them the main focus.

Ah, Konjuku was right. You do have a wonderful style. ^^ I believe I have found yet another great artist and role model when it comes to drawing (especially coloring). I admit that I'm very jealous now and if you've got me that way then keep up the great work. ^^

dude.

You have officially succeeded in rendering me speechless. You have my utter praise, a fave, and my personal confirmation that samurai are indeed the best warriors known on this earth. For this I thank you.

Wow. Very beautifully done and well detailed! I like the way even through the detail of every wrinkle, patch and shadow, you can still see the most basic expressions of their eyes.

good pic, but historically, there were no female samurai.

:iconprincesstutianna:

actually, there were female samurai, but so very few of them back in the feudal ages that noone ever bothered to mention them, and simply liked to say that the females in the house of a samurai knew sword techniques and what not. i have pictures of female samurai in japan during some historical celebration of sorts... ^^

Wow such an amazing use of colors, shadows, and much more.

a lot of times a see works make the DD list that i personally feel shouldn't be there (like somebody just jumped on a bandwagon and gave it to them)

But this is different. So much attention to detail truly has made this a wonderful piece or art.

Amazing job. and fav'ed

I really hate the fact that you've taken parts of the finished piece and just made them larger and put them alongside it. Not that I'm blaming you for the popularity of that style of presentation, but you're really shortchanging yourself for two reasons: (a) someone looking at it will be like, "all the artist did was take three selections from the painting and copied and pasted them in a bit of the frame." It doesn't add anything. It just distracts the viewer from the actual piece. Especially the choice of selections. We get a close up of the tie around her waist. What does that tell us? and (b) if you had really wanted to put those little windows in, you could have told us more about the image, the characters, or the situation by making three completely new but smaller pictures. They could have even been less detailed. I think this would have helped the piece a lot. As it is, I love the beauty of the large main painting, the attention to details, the choices of color, the tenderness of the facial expressions. I'd just prefer to lob the entire frame off. If it doesn't help the viewer understand the piece, then it is unnecessary.
